James Posedel, President

James Posedel, President

James Posedel is quite possibly the biggest swing dancing enthusiast Appalachian State has ever known. He was born and raised in Chicago, IL but a cross country family move landed him here in sweet aired North Carolina.

Interestingly enough, James had no intention of becoming involved in a dance group during his college years, and was reluctantly dragged to a swing dance at Legends in 2007 by a lead-less friend. Now James has worked his way up to the difficult position of el presidente and has settled nicely into his new executive position. You can see him every week at the Quinn Center from 8:45-10:00 pm getting his groove on with many lucky ladies. Remember that his favorite dance is the Lindy Hop, but he cannot refuse an east coast or charleston dance.

James is a Psychology major and Spanish Minor.

Mark Arendas, Vice President

Mark Arendas, Vice President

Mark doesn't do much as vice president, though I think that if James has a heart attack or is assassinated, it is Mark's duty to take over as leader of the Appalachian Swing Club.

He is an amazing teacher and can solo charleston like nobody's business. He is often dressed as a businessman vampire who shops at Hot Topic. But this only adds to his appeal and mystique. Don't be afraid to ask this guy for a dance. He definitely knows what he's doing on a dance floor.
